Becky and family, I was so sad to hear about Bruce. I have many fond memories of the times we all shared back in the "good old days". Please know you are in my thoughts, and I hope the memories you all have will ease your pain and bring you comfort.

Becky, Three months ago for our February gathering of the USDB Lunch Group at the Ogden Pizzeria, we were SO excited when Bruce emailed me to indicate that both of you would be attending. Needless to say, we were disappointed that you weren't there. But we were shocked to hear of his recent passing. Bruce has meant SO much to each of us over the years. His sense of humor and easy going manner helped us through stressful times at work, and he always seemed to know how to maneuver through the state human resource system to find the answers we needed. We grew to love you and your family through the many fun and humorous happenings he shared with us. May the entire Buland family be comforted in your loss. Judi Nielsen and the USDB Lunch Group

Bruce is/was the best. I've known him since grade school. I lost track of him after High School but he always had a dry sense of humor and always made me laugh. Picked him up on Facebook a few years back and his humor hadn't left him. I wondered why I hadn't seen any posts lately and now I know why. I loved that boy and will miss him. I am very sorry for your/our loss. The world was a much better place with him in it. May God bless and watch over you and yours. Dee Brightenburg.

I had the opportunity of working with Bruce for many years at USDB. His wisdom and insight guided me through what seemed to be shark infested waters many times. He always did it with a smile, a good joke and his positive, optimistic outlook. He was a great example of goodness and caring for his fellow man. I will always hold dear, memories of him and be ever grateful for his positive influence in my life. We share your loss as a family. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. I am so sorry to hear about Bruce. I truly enjoyed working with him at USDB. He was a valued colleague who provided helpful counsel to me many times over the years. I will miss seeing him at our retiree lunches. May we all find peace in our memories of the laughter and happiness Bruce brought us.
